ELIZABETH A. CLAUHSEN
Managing Director
Liz is a Managing Director, having been with Savoy Partners since its inception in 1990, and has nearly two decades of senior level recruiting and human resources consulting experience. She was a Vice President of its predecessor, Leon A. Farley Associates, which was consistently designated one of the "Fifty Leading" executive search firms in the country. She has particular strengths in technology-based and professional services businesses, but also has done significant work for financial services, consumer products and other commercial clients. The majority of her searches and assignments have been conducted at the upper management levels and in a wide variety of functional areas.

During 1991, Liz took a leave of absence from Savoy to serve as Vice President at Salomon Brothers, New York, where she managed the firm's Corporate Employment department. She was also responsible for the design, development and implementation of the first Assessment Center established by Salomon Brothers in the United States.

Previously, she was a Vice President and Partner with Strategic Planning Associates, a corporate strategy consulting firm. Prior to SPA, she spent eight years with Booz, Allen & Hamilton in New York, Cleveland, and Washington, D.C. She served as Director, Corporate Staff from 1985 to 1987; Director of Development for the Technology Management Division from 1983 to 1985; and as a Senior Associate in both the commercial and government/high technology sectors during the 1979 to 1983 period.

She has maintained an ongoing interest and involvement in performance appraisal, compensation, training and management development over the past decade. She has designed and taught courses at Salomon Brothers, as well as for her previous employers. At Savoy, she also advised several major clients on the development of management and executive training programs within their own companies.

Before joining Booz, Allen, she was with the executive search group, Simmons Associates for two years. The firm was prominent in banking, finance, and real estate development, but also handled some complex assignments in defense technologies.

She holds an undergraduate degree with honors from Harvard University and has completed graduate course work in business, marketing, strategic planning, and psychology. She served with the Peace Corps in South America, and has maintained fluency in the Spanish language.
