CHRISTOPHER A. KIDD
Managing Director

Chris is a Managing Director with Savoy Partners and draws on his thirty years of experience in corporate management, venture funding and executive recruiting to meet the needs of Savoy’s clients. His search practice focuses on senior level positions for technology-based companies and private equity professionals for the venture finance and portfolio management sectors. Having been a chief executive officer, a chief financial officer, as well as a private equity general partner, Chris has a breadth of business knowledge that enables him to bring added value to clients.

Prior to joining Savoy Partners, Chris spent six years as a Senior Partner with two leading executive search firms. In one role, he led the firm’s global private equity and venture capital practice while personally executing senior searches in technology, venture capital, bioscience, and telecommunication sectors in U.S., Europe and Asia markets. More recently, Chris focused on the professional services, Homeland Defense and Federal sectors, executing senior marketing and other leadership search assignments for leading services and product providers. Chris drew upon his early experience in national security matters to personally lead the U.S. Department of Transportation’s recruitment of over 80 highly specialized and scarce Senior Executive Service security, intelligence, and enforcement executives to meet the post September 11 airport security mandate.

Formerly, he was the Chief Executive Officer of a leading U.S. wireless telecommunications company. He led that corporation through its initial public offering and multiple financings, including private and public equity and high-yield debt transactions. Following his success as a public company founder and CEO, Chris started up and operated the Bretton Woods Group, LLC, a private investment bank serving the emerging markets of the Central European States. Living in Prague and Warsaw, Chris provided financial advisory, capital formation and transaction services to the emerging wireless and data business sectors in Poland, Czech Republic, Russia and Hungary.

Earlier, Chris was a senior corporate strategist and operations specialist with the international management consulting firm Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc. Prior to his corporate experience, he served as a platoon leader, squad leader and fire team specialist in the United States Marine Corps.

Chris graduated from the United States Naval Academy, where he received a BS degree in electrical and marine engineering with a second concentration in international security affairs.
